Type 137 are compact and very versatile seals. Multiple springs are used to provide uniform face loading and positive drive is provided through rugged grub screws. The secondary sealing is generally done by a PTFE wedge or a 'O' Ring. These can be replaced with pure graphite wedge to withstand temperatures upto 400 ˚C. Type 137B is pressure balanced to withstand high pressures.
